Reduction of Hazardous Substances Directive
(RoHS)
In 2003 the European Union enacted the Reduction of Hazardous Substances Directive
(RoHS). This legislation seeks to reduce the concentration of six substances
from electrical and electronic equipment that falls within the instruction scope.
These substances are:
Lead
Mercury
Cadmium
Hexavalent chromium
Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
North Hills now manufactures RoHS compliant versions of our Wideband Transformers. To
order a RoHS compliant Wideband Transformer simply add the letters LF at the
end of the model number.
For example: North Hills balun transformer 0300BB-LF is a RoHS compliant
product.
The North Hills MIL-STD-1553 Data Bus Coupler product line is in a category
exempt from the RoHS directive.
All RoHS compliant parts are interchangeable with their non-compliant predecessors.
