Wideband transformers couple signals magnetically from input to output terminals with optimum transmission reliability over broad frequency ranges. Major objectives in their use are:

	Impedance matching for maximum power transfer
	Coupling between unbalanced and balanced circuits (Baluns)
	DC isolation between input and output
	Ground Isolation for common mode rejection
	Signal distribution and mixing
