North Hills Ultra Compact Data Bus Box Coupler: Small Size Delivers Big Advantages
Syosset, NY (May 22, 2006) — North Hills,
a division of Porta Systems Corp., new Ultra Compact MIL-STD-1553
Box-Type Data Bus Coupler provides design engineers from the military,
aerospace and commercial markets with many welcome advantages.
The smaller size— the
low profile design and lightweight robust construction makes
the North Hills Ultra Compact Data Bus Box Coupler the ideal
solution for programs that are weight sensitive and have limited
space and volume for installation. The coupler is
approximately .6” x .1.8” x 1.5” without
connectors.
This coupler is designed with a mounting tab for applications
where the couplers must be firmly attached to the aircraft.
Ultra Compact Box Couplers meet all MIL-STD-1553 electrical requirements
and are manufactured using North Hills transformers and MIL-R-39007
Level S resistors. The couplers can be purchased with internal
termination to further reduce installation complexity and parts
count. Ultra Compact couplers can also be provided with
patch cords to be assembled on site as a complete harness assembly
ready for installation.
These couplers can be space qualified for use in satellites or
launchers, and is North Hills' latest addition to an extensive
line of connection and measurement devices.
